"Let me ask you something, what is not art?"
A brilliant Art History professor of mine once theorized that anything could be art. He asserted that the question was not “Is this art?” but “Is this good or bad art?” In other words, is it successful? Does it achieve its objectives? Did this piece need to be made? Did the chosen medium effectively communicate the work’s message? Does it engage the viewer? Does it reward the viewer for observing?
